4 Lesson Plan $119 per lesson PAY AS YOU GO – 6 hours
Lesson 1 (1.5 hours) Students learn basic vehicle control, roadway position, primary defensive driving skills and how order is maintained on the roadway through laws and driving procedures.
After lesson 1 the student should have 5 hours or more of focused practice generally over a period of 1 to 1.5 months.
Lesson 2 (1.5 hours) It is preferable to conduct this lesson in moderate traffic. How to perform blind spot lane changes, dedicated right turns, entering and exiting two way left turn lanes (suicide lanes) U-turns, multiple lane left turns, etc.
After lesson 2 the student should have 15 to 20 hours or more of focused practice generally over a period of 2 to 2.5 months.
Lesson 3 (1.5 hours) Students learn how to merge onto the freeway at the speed of the flow of traffic and how to exit without unnecessarily slowing down while on the freeway. We work on numerous lane changes. We discuss the speed differential and spacial relationship of the vehicles present and how it affects how we should do things. The freeway on ramps and off ramps are specifically chosen due to various challenges that are present on the ramps, as well as in the area of the city near the ramps. This exposes the student to city driving that is often quite different and more difficult than is normally encountered in routine driving.
After lesson 3 the student should have 10 to 15 hours or more of focused practice prior to lesson 4. The length of time between lesson 3 and lesson 4 generally depends on student performance.
Lesson 4 (1.5 hours) The lesson includes understanding how the drive test is scored and preparing for specifically what the examiners are looking for, parallel parking and addressing any concerns the student or instructor may still have. The lesson includes drive test preparation, parallel parking and tying up any loose ends.
After lesson 4 the student should have 1 to 5 hours of focused practice.
Option:
Lesson 5 (1 hour + Drive Test) $149 The lesson consists of precision driving and last minute Drive Test tune-up. After completion of the lesson we go directly to Folsom DMV or Placerville DMV exclusively to take the Drive Test. (Please click on the link "Policies" for our Drive Test guarantee.)
After lesson 5 the new driver should drive at least twice a week, more if possible, to maintain strong defensive driving skills.

Start training at age 15
We are one of very few schools granted the authority by the DMV to begin training a student as early as age 15.
Although this is available to virtually anyone who is at least 15 years of age and as fun as this may sound, there many conditions placed on the student, the student’s family and on our school making this generally only worthwhile in special situations.
Unless the DMV issues a Junior Permit, as well, the student will be restricted to driving only with one of our instructors and will not be permitted to drive with anyone else, including a parent, per DMV regulations.
Junior Permits are issued by the DMV based on special needs of the student or family. Medical need by a family member or lack of appropriate public transportation to serve the needs of the family or student are the most common reasons.
